Blog Porter: Wix, Blogger & Medium to WordPress Migration

Descripcion

Moving a blog should not mean copying posts one by one, cleaning a fragile export file, or switching between tools. Blog Porter is an end-to-end WordPress migration tool: analyse your existing blog, review the content, complete a one-time checkout, and import it into WordPress from one guided dashboard.

Choose your current platform, let Blog Porter analyse the blog, review the posts it finds, then pay once only when you are ready to migrate. The plugin imports in small resumable batches, so a large migration can continue after an interrupted browser session or a temporary hosting issue.

Why use Blog Porter?

  • Everything happens in WordPress. Install the free plugin, connect the blog you are moving, review it, complete checkout, and manage the import in one place.
  • Review before you pay. Blog Porter analyses the source and lets you review the detected posts before the one-time migration checkout.
  • No XML file or extra migration tool to manage. Blog Porter prepares your migration and delivers it straight into WordPress.
  • Bring the important blog content with you. Depending on the source platform, Blog Porter imports posts, categories, tags, authors, rich text, inline images, and featured images into native WordPress content.
  • Keep going if an import is interrupted. Progress is saved between small batches. You can pause after the current post, resume later, and retry posts or media that need another attempt.
  • Pay once per migration. No account is required and there is no subscription.

Supported blog platforms

Blog Porter supports public blogs from Wix, Blogger, Medium, Squarespace, Webflow, and HubSpot when that platform is enabled by the Blog Porter service. For Medium, you can also provide the ZIP archive supplied by Medium.

Your complete WordPress migration, in five steps

  1. Install and activate Blog Porter on the WordPress site that will receive your blog.
  2. Open Blog Porter from the WordPress admin sidebar and choose the platform you are moving from.
  3. Enter the public blog URL, or upload your Medium archive, then confirm that you own the content.
  4. Review the detected posts and complete the one-time checkout when you are happy to proceed.
  5. Start the import. Blog Porter creates the available posts, taxonomy, and media in WordPress, with progress shown as it works.

A note about SEO

Blog Porter preserves available post titles, content, publish dates, slugs, and taxonomy so you have a strong starting point for a content migration. A successful import alone cannot guarantee rankings: your theme, domain move, metadata, internal links, redirects, and indexing settings still need to be reviewed before you switch traffic. If an old URL changes, configure and test a 301 redirect to its new WordPress URL.

Blog Porter migrates blog content. It does not recreate a source platform’s theme, page design, ecommerce data, custom applications, or redirect configuration.

External service and privacy

Blog Porter handles the source-platform analysis and content preparation behind the scenes, while every migration step is completed from your WordPress dashboard. You do not need to export, upload, or manage a migration file yourself.

When you start a migration, the plugin securely connects to Blog Porter to analyse your blog, prepare the content, and import it into WordPress. You stay in control: review what was found before checkout, then follow the migration progress from your WordPress dashboard.

FAQ

Do I need to upload an XML file?

No. The recommended workflow prepares the migration on Blog Porter and downloads small import batches directly into WordPress. A manual XML export is available only as a fallback when you cannot install plugins on the destination site.

Is Blog Porter free?

The plugin is free to install. Blog Porter is a pay-as-you-go migration service: you review the detected content first, then pay a one-time fee for the migration you choose. No account or subscription is required.

Can I see what Blog Porter finds before paying?

Yes. Analyse the supported public blog from the plugin, review the detected posts, and choose which content to migrate before completing checkout.

Can I migrate only selected posts?

Yes. Review the detected posts before checkout and choose which content you want to migrate.

Does it copy images?

Blog Porter copies available inline and featured images into the WordPress Media Library when the source server allows them to be downloaded. The import summary identifies media that needs another attempt.

Can I pause or retry an import?

Yes. Imports can be paused after the current post and resumed later. Posts or media with errors can be retried without duplicating successfully imported posts or attachments.

Can I migrate a large blog?

Yes. Blog Porter imports content in resumable batches, so you can pause, resume, and retry without starting the migration from scratch.

Do I need coding skills or hosting access?

No. Install the plugin, enter your blog URL, review the migration, and import from your WordPress dashboard.

Will Blog Porter preserve my SEO?

Blog Porter preserves available content details such as slugs, publish dates, and taxonomy, but SEO depends on more than the import. Before publishing the new site, review metadata and internal links, then add and test 301 redirects for URLs that change. Blog Porter does not configure redirects automatically.

Does Blog Porter migrate my whole website?

No. Blog Porter is for blog content migrations. It does not recreate your source theme, page layouts, ecommerce data, custom apps, or domain and redirect settings.

What if Blog Porter cannot import something?

The migration summary shows what was imported and highlights posts or media that need another attempt.
